Hexagon Diamond Quilt. c2009

The inspiration for this quilt came from a quilt in the "MOSAIC QUILTS" book (Curious Works Press)

I made my quilt using 1/2" hexagons and I appliquéd the finished diamonds onto linen cloth. I also added a border using 3/4" hexagons

My First Quilt.  c.1968-1970

Whilst a flute student in New York in 1968, my mother would send me the newspaper templates and the pre-cut dress fabrics. I took me a couple of years to make. I can still remember the mailman delivering the parcels! Always exciting to see my old dress fabrics again. I was a student in New York for  two and a half years.
